My journey to Kashmir 2024 (Part 1)

Let’s start…

We went to sleep at around 3 AM at the midnight in Delhi.

But we knew we had to wake up early as we needed to catch our connecting flight from Delhi Airport to Srinagar Airport at 10:30 AM in the morning.

So we had to check out from hotel before 8 AM or ever more early if possible.

Catching the Connecting Flight

As planned, We waked up early at 7 AM in the morning.

We quickly made ourselves ready for the quick check out.

There was huge cold weather situation.

Temperature around 7-8 Degree Celsius.

But ready were mentally prepared for the cold weather.

After completing check out.

We took physical Invoice from the Hotel.

This is a note for everyone who travel.

When you check out from or in to a Hotel, please collect your physical Bill/Invoice because while you deport from the country, India or in case of any country, Immigration Officer may ask you to show whereabouts of your stay.

That time you have to show you bill copy otherwise you may have faced uncomfortable consequences.

We hired a taxi from hotel to Delhi Airport for around Rs. 250.

We entered in the airport after completing official procedures.

Delhi airport is a large airport. Going to the required place by walking is not an easy task.

We went to our required Air India Onboarding Station by walking around 25 Minutes.

Flight is delayed by around an hour.

We waited.

Whenever our flight started on boarding we did it easily.

Two of our team are on Air India Flight.

Three of our team are on Vistara Airlines’ Flight.

So far is so good.

But the problem happened later.

Additional Flight Delays

We reached and well seated on this flight.

We got 6 Serial seats and window side seats.

Air India agent helped us to get a good seat at the connecting flight.

Everyone was seated.

Plane doors were closed.

Initial take off procedure started.

When pilots should declare that they completed take off procedure and ready for taxi.

Instead main pilot declared with a sorry voice that we had to wait in the plain for around 2 hours more before take-off.

Because there was a training of Indian Air Force (IAF) had just started in the air for India Independence Day.

Until IAF trial training was completed, no commercial airplane could take off from Delhi airport. All flight was cancelled for take-off for another 2 hours.

Every passenger was got frustrated including me and my wife.

Waiting in Airport Lounge is not a problem.

Because we can walk or move easily.

But in the airplane seat there is very limited option to walk or move around.

As all passengers on boarding was completed, Air India Pilots did not want to reopen the gates.

They requested to wait patiently.

Everyone wanted to adjust the situation by watching movies or something with their smartphones.

Finally Take-Off

After 1 hour and 40 minutes, finally or flight got the clearance from Air Traffic Controller (ATC) to take-off.

We feel relaxed at this point.

That’s all today.

Talk next article.

Until then take care.
